Together, Advocates and the Autism Alliance of MetroWest are partnering with businesses and individuals to create a welcoming and accessible community for families and their loved ones with autism. Ultimately, our goal is to lead an increased quality and socially inclusive life for families. We’re making things easier for families by helping businesses become sensitivity responsive and by making respite workers accessible in the Caregiver Corps.
Sensitivity Responsiveness for Community Businesses
Sensory responsive businesses take extra steps to create an accepting and inclusive community by educating staff and making simple, but impactful accommodations to their location. We will work with local businesses to educate, train, and provide the tools they need to become an approved sensitivity responsive business. Having neighborhood businesses that care fosters a new culture and stronger environment for all.

Caring for a family member with autism has a significant impact on the family caregiver’s health and productivity. Our goal is to build a Caregiver Corps—a group of caring people trained to provide family caregivers with respite services. The Caregiver Corps partners with families to develop an ongoing respite-relationship. Support may include individual family respite and/or community group respite depending on the needs of the individual. Interested in joining the Caregiver Corps or learning more? Send us a message!
