Supported Decision Making is an alternative to guardianship that allows an individual with a disability to work with a team and make choices about his or her life. Under this model, the individual designates a support network, sometimes called a circle of support, to help him or her with decision making.

Michael J. Kendrick PhD, Director of Supported Decision Making Initiatives at the Center for Public Representation will be on hand to explain the process and to give examples of individuals who are successfully using this option to advocate for themselves and make the important decisions of life.

A Full Life Ahead is a workshop series offered by Massachusetts Families Organizing for Change (MFOFC) for parents and guardians of young adults with a disability. The series focuses on transition, employment, housing, friendships and other topics that will lead to interdependent, full lives. Advocates is proud to partner with MFOFC to offer workshops in the Metro Boston/MetroWest region.
